10mm Auto Overview The  10mm Auto (10×25mm) is a powerful semi-automatic pistol cartidge first introduced in 1983. In 1989 the round was adopted by the FBI but was soon decommisioned due to the excessive recoil and overpowered nature of the caliber which then resulted in the .40S&W round being developed by Smith & Wesson which is a shorter variant of the 10mm.  10mm is still used by a select few agencies and militaries around the world, it also has an enthusiastic group of supporters and users in the civilian and contractor world. It is used for self defense and hunting, offering extreme stopping power in a semi-automatic capable cartidge.   Stats Note: 343.2 m/s is the subsonic barrier - anything below that is considered subsonic. Subsonic ammunition removes the bullet crack down range making the round better suited to stealth.
