.22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22WMR)

Overview

The .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire, also called .22 WMR or .22 Magnum is a rimfire cartridge. It is a high velocity cartridge that is sometimes considered the budget 5.7, offering superior capacity in a handgun (30 rounds in the PMR-30 compared to 20 rounds in the FN Five-seveN) and with the right loads, offering similar ballistic capabilities. Additionally, while it lacks the punching power of bigger pistol calibers it does offer the ability to shoot out to further ranges than typical for a pistol caliber - making it a highly capable calibre in its own right.
