.52 Auto Magnum

Overview

The .52 Auto Magnum was created in 1988 by Arcadia Machine & Tool for use in a prototype autoloading pistol. It was designed as a rimless, straight wall case cartridge loaded by taking a .510 SuperMagnum casing, converting it to be rimless and loading it with custom manufactured projectiles.

It was intended to be a close range dangerous and big game hunting cartridge loaded into a semi-automatic handgun. Additionally several experimental armor-penetrating projectiles were created for possible police and military buyers, however they did not go anywhere due to the slow and heavy nature of the cartridge not being of interest to any potential customers.
