During WWII, the Commission expanded into newly reorganized GRU as Division "P" - Psychotronics, working to counteract anomalous threats from the SS, Ahnenerbe, and the Vatican, and to capture and study anomalous artifacts both home and abroad for the benefit of the Soviet government. Division "P" carried on with this role throughout the Cold War, making Foundation operations in the countries of the Comintern difficult.

After 1991, rapid restructuring, coupled with budget cuts and the decommissioning or sale of significant assets, resulted in numerous defections of their personnel (A significant proportion of both Chaos Insurgency and MC&D operatives in Eastern Europe originated from GRU Division "P" ranks) and the flooding of the European black market with anomalous items formerly in their possession.

However, around 2017 GRU Division "P" is believed to have received an enormous boost in funding following the events of ██████. Intelligence suggests that to prepare Division "P" for facing the ever growing threat of global conflict involving anomalies it began recruiting agents directly from the ranks of Russian special forces units and intelligence agencies.

Division "P" has actively begun opposing the foundation throughout Europe and across the globe. On numerous occasions Division "P" has conducted raids against Foundations sites, capturing anomalies likely for the purposes of research and occasionally to outright destroy them. However, unlike the Chaos Insurgency - it does not appear that Division "P" captures anomalies with the intent of using them to cause chaos. GRU Division "P" has made an effort to work with the foundation on several occasions to prevent large scale destruction by anomalies.

Formation, Equipment & Capabilities

werewolf.pngThe exact size and composition of GRU Division "P" is unknown. However what is known is that GRU Division P's has two primary groups responsible for field operations. Its primary force which they rely on for field operations is Spetsnaz Group A, a group of special forces likely drawn from several elite units within the Russian Federation. Several leaked images of Spetsnaz Group A have aquired by the foundation.

Based on the few images available, SG(A) appears to utilise a mixture of western and eastern equipment. Uniforms primary consist of a green gorka suit mixed in with Russian and American plate carriers and Russian RATNIK helmets.

roadblock.pngWeaponry is primary of Russian origin however western influence and ideas can be seen in the choice of some of their weaponry. It appears as though 6mm marksman weapons are in use by the unit.

Vehicles and other support assets utilised by the unit appear to be drawn directly from the Russian VDV (Airborne) with vehicles in use by SG(A) having VDV markings and camouflage patterns. It is likely that SG(A) and GRU Division P as a whole have access to the armories and motor pools of the entire Russian military should they need it.
