.300WM

Overview

5.56 NATO.300WM (5.56x45mmWinchester NATO)Magnum) is a sniper calibre. It hits hard and goes far, it is a great middle ground between 7.62x51 and .338 Lapua Magnum.

.300WM FMJ

.300WM FMJ is a copper jacketed round capable of decent accuracy, range and penetration.

.300WM Lead Soft Tip

.300WM Lead Soft Tip (LST) is a variant of the standard.300WM cartridgedesigned for allhunting NATOgame countriessuch as welldeer and other bigger animals. Lead soft tip rounds are similar to FMJ however the tip is left exposed and replaced with a soft piece of lead, upon impact the lead will assist with the round expanding inside of the target therefore doing more internal damage than other ammunition. However any form of barrier penetration suffers.

.300WM Subsonic

.300WM Subsonic is designed for usage at short distances for hunting with a suppressor. The subsonic nature of the round means there is no subsonic crack down range making the round quieter. However as a largeresult numberthe ofeffective non-NATOrange countries. is massively reduced.

M855 (Also called FMJ)

M855 is a steel penetrator tipped round with a lead core and copper jacket. It is the predecessor to the M855A1 round. It is average at flesh damage and armour penetration. It has the following variations:

  • M856 Red Tracer
  • M856 Green Tracer
  • M856 Yellow Tracer
  • M856 Orange Tracer

M855A1 (Also called EPR)

M855A1 is an upgraded version of the M855 round with improved velocities and armour penetration capabilities. It has the following variations:

  • M856A1 Red Tracer
  • M856A1 Green Tracer
  • M856A1 Yellow Tracer

Mk318 (Also called SOST)

The Mk318 is an open tipped penetrator round designed to inflict high levels of soft tissue damage. It moves slightly slower than M855A1 and is very ineffective at armour penetration. It has no additional variations.

Mk262 (Also called SBLR)

Mk262 SPR/SBLR (Special Ball Long Range) is a hollow point match grade round designed for long range accuracy. It has better performance than M855A1 at range as well as better soft tissue damage. It however has poor armour penetration capabilities. It has no additional variations.

M995.300WM AP (Armour Piercing)

.300WM AP is designed specifically for penetrating

.300WM Mk.248

M995 AP is a armour piercing tungsten core giving it exceptional armour piercing capabilities. It has average performance on par with M855A1 however it is inferior at range due to the projectile being heavier than it's counterparts. It has no additional variations.

M193.300WM BallTracer

M193 ball is the first type of ammunition first adopted for the M16 platform. M193 is higher velocity than most 5.56 however it possesses inferior armour penetration capabilities to M855. It is inferior at range in comparison to almost every type of 5.56. It has the following variations:

  • M196 Tracer Red

6.5.300WM GrendelSwine 162gr HunterSmashers

6.5 Grendel 162gr Hunter is a round designed for hunting big game such as bears and moose. It out performs almost every type of 5.56 in soft tissue damage and armour penetration. However due to its increased cartridge size magazines are restricted to 24 rounds. It has no additional variations.

6.5 Grendel 100gr Match

6.5 Grendel 100gr Match is designed to emulate shooting 7.62mm NATO out of a 5.56 rifle. It is effective at range in both soft tissue damage and armour penetration. It has no additional variations.

Subsonic

Subsonic 5.56 is designed for stealth operations. It does not produce a supersonic crack and is quieter to AI making you harder to spot when shooting. It has average performance on par with M855A1 however it falls off massively at range due to its typical speed.

M862, XM1037 & M200

M862 and XM1037 are training rounds. They are not designed for killing and perform horribly at doing so. M200 is a blank round and does not have a projectile making it virtually useless.

Understanding the Stats

Hit TypicalSpeed AirFriction Caliber
Hit is the potential damage capability of the round. The higher the number the better, however if it has a low typicalspeed, high airfriction or a low caliber the damage will drop off massively from its Hit stat. Typical speed is the typical speed that the ammunition will travel at. It is measured in meters per second. Ammunition below 350 m/s is subsonic. This represents how much the air affects the round. The heavier the round the more friction it will encounter. Numbers further from the 0 such as 0.0004 is less friction, close is more friction 0.04. Caliber is the raw armour penetration capability of the round. The higher the better.
