.338 Norma Magnum
Overview
.338NM (Norma Magnum) is a medium machine gun calibre designed to bridge the gap between 7.62x51 and .50BMG. It is effective up to 2500m for accurate fire unlike the 7.62x51 which is only good for up 1500m accurately. In addition it retains its velocity and stopping power out to its accurate distance making it a highly effective round at close and far distances. As of 2020 is it currently being pushed as a replacement for .50 BMG in the anti-materiel role, as such a replacement for the MK211 RAUFOSS round has been developed to give the round capabilities similar to that of the .50 BMG.
