.338NM (Norma Magnum)

Overview

.338NM (Norma Magnum) is a medium machine gun calibre designed to bridge the gap between 7.62x51 and .50BMG. It is effective up to 2500m for accurate fire unlike the 7.62x51 which is only good for up 1500m accurately. In addition it retains its velocity and stopping power out to its accurate distance making it a highly effective round at close and far distances.

.338NM (Normal)

.338NM standard velocity rounds. Hard hitting up to 2500 meters.

Has the following variants:

  • .338NM Tracer

.300WM Hyper Velocity Armour Piercing Rounds

.338NM HV/AP is a hyper velocity armour piercing round designed for long range armour piercing. Capable of penetrating most conventional armour plating at 2500 meters, additionally it is capable of penetrating some light armoured vehicles.

Has the following variants:

  • .338NM HV/AP Tracer

Understanding the Stats

Hit TypicalSpeed AirFriction Caliber
Hit is the potential damage capability of the round. The higher the number the better, however if it has a low typicalspeed, high airfriction or a low caliber the damage will drop off massively from its Hit stat. Typical speed is the typical speed that the ammunition will travel at. It is measured in meters per second. Ammunition below 350 m/s is subsonic. This represents how much the air affects the round. The heavier the round the more friction it will encounter. Numbers further from the 0 such as 0.0004 is less friction, close is more friction 0.04. Caliber is the raw armour penetration capability of the round. The higher the better.
