7.62 NATO
Overview
7.62 NATO (7.62x51 NATO) is the NATO standard medium machine gun and sniper rifle cartridge. It is used in various marksman and sniper rifles as well as mounted and dismounted machine guns such as the FN MAG-58/M240. ItBy modern standards it is antiquated, being outclasses by a highlot powerof cartridge.
M80

M80A1 (Also known as EPR)
M80A1 is a steel core armour piercing 7.62x51 NATO round. It has decent soft tissue damage and better than 5.56 armour penetration. This round has the following variations:

M61
M61 AP is a early generation armour piercing round. It is average at soft tissue damage and has slightly improved armour penetration over M80A1. This round has the following variations:

M82
M82 is a blank and does not fire a projectile.
M118
M118 is designed specifically for long range shooting. It is comparable to M316 Mod 0 but has superior armour penetration capabilities compared to Mk316. It has no variants.
M993
M993 is a armour piercing 7.62 round capable of outperforming every form of 7.62 and 5.56 in armour penetration. It has average soft tissue damage. It has no variants.
Mk316 Mod 0
Mk316 Mod 0 is the successor to M118 having better performance at range, with an improved projectile helping reduce air friction. However it has inferior armour penetration in comparison to M118. This round has the following variations:

Note: 343.2 m/s is the subsonic barrier - anything below that is considered subsonic. Subsonic ammunition removes the bullet crack down range making the round better suited to stealth.
