Conflict in the Aegean – Altis, Greece
Strategic Situation
TheTerror Islamicattacks Republicagainst the US has led to a swift invasion of Iran has launched an Invasion of the Mediterranean, landing in Italy, Greece and on controlling many of the islands throughout the Mediterranean. A task force of US, Canadian, British and Australian forces were gathered to continue operations against Russian held territories in Europe and were taken completely unaware. In an effort to establish a foot hold and disrupt Iranian power throughout the Mediterannean, Altis a large island in the Aegean sea has been chosen as a staging point. Iraq
Iran has over the last few years built close ties with Russia and China, this unexpected alliance has meant that their weapons technology has grown in leaps and bounds. The Unified triumvirate of China, Russian and the Allied Arabic Armed Forces has created a power block that rivals anything that NATO can respond with. With Russia inexorably pushing east through Europe, China pushing south through Asia towards Australia and the AAAF involved in heavy fighting throughout Africa and the Mediterranean, World War Three has officially started and it is up to CTRG to make sure that Iran does not provide the supply route that links Russia and the Middle East.
Operational Situation
CTRG-0 has been assigned to AO ALPHARIUS on the Island of Altis, CTRG-0 will once again pose as the newly formed British Army SAS squadron F and has been attached to US command to assist with special operations and any other role they may need. It is absolutely imperative that the Iranian war effort is crippled throughout the Aegean without causing unnecessary damage to infrastructure.
Key to capturing the island is to link the US and the Commonwealth forces that currently are divided between two airfields. The southern portion of Altis is overrun with Jihadists and a small amount of Iranian special forces. The Northern half of the island contains more than a battalion of Iranian Army, known as the Takavar, along with at least two companies of Saberin; the elite soldiers of the Takavar.

(S-FVEY) AO ALPHARIUS.
CTRG is tasked with aiding NATO forces in AO ALPHARIUS in any way that is requested but specifically in the elimination of HVT’s, destruction of hard targets, capturing important infrastructure and disrupting bandit and jihadist activity behind enemy lines.
Phase 1 – TAOR OMEGON
Situation - Terrain
Observation – Near the towns and salt flats lie several hills and forests which would offer a commanding view of the battlefield..
Cover – Between the target towns there is not much cover, the hills do have some wooded areas and themselves can be used to conceal infantry movement.
Obstacle – There are no natural obstacles that obstruct movements.
Key Terrain – Open plains, farmland and hills.
Avenue of approach – The roads between towns are heavily defended but offer the most expedited way to destroy the enemy without allowing reinforcements to get past CTRG movement, if this is deemed to be of no concern, capturing the surrounding hills and moving down into towns could prove the best approach.
Situation - Enemy (Jihadist)
Size – 1000+.
Activities – Constant assaults on NATO forces, murder of all those who oppose the expansion of the AAAF into the mediterranean.
Locations – Sofia and Salt Flats.
Units – Unknown.
Tactics – Unknown.
Equipment – AK Variant weaponry, hunting rifles and submachine guns. APC’s, IFV’s and Tanks of soviet make have been seen in the area along with the presents of a variety of Islamic rotary wing aircraft and fixed wing aircraft to dissuade any NATO aircraft in the AO.
Habits – Unknown.
Intention – The Jihadists and Takavar wish to expel NATO forces from the Aegean and use it to launch attacks against mainland Europe.
Morale – High.
Situation
The Marines of the 1st Recon Bn have been under attack from overwhelming forces of Jihadists in Sofia, without aid they will likely fall, they have taken massive casualties holding off thousands of jihadists over the last fortnight and less than a company of marines stand between Sofia and the people of Molos and its Airfield. Retaking the town of Sofia and the MSR that runs east to west throughout southern Altis is imperative to the effort to control southern Altis. The salt flats south of the MSR are perhaps the only place apart from the primary airfield on Altis that will allow for the use of large aircraft such as the C130 and as such must be wrested from the hands of the enemy. There is a known hotel to the north of the TAOR that frequently is a meeting site between Takavar officers and Jihadist leaders, a helicopter was seen landing nearby and it is assumed that a ranking officer has come to advise on the war with the rebels in the south, elimination of this officer by a sniper team will weaken the jihadist resolve.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to CAPTURE the town of Sofia IVO TAOR OMEGON IOT influence operations along the MSR. CTRG 0 is to DENY the MSR to Jihadist forces and SUPPORT the 1st Marine Reconnaissance Battalion in their effort to DESTROY enemies at the salt flats IVO TAOR OMEGON.
Execution
Phase 1 – Use rotary wing aircraft to land infantry and CAPTURE Sofia
Phase 2 – Move along the MSR and construct a rudimentary FOB, HOLD this position to SCREEN infantry assaulting the salt flats.
Phase 3 – Move to assist 1st Recon Bn to DESTROY enemies and CAPTURE their equiment at the Salt Flats IVO TAOR OMEGON.
Phase 4 – If numbers permit a Sniper Team can be sent to NEUTRALISE enemy at the Hotel IVO Iraklia.
Phase 5 - Endex at Salt Flats Airfield.
(S-FVEY) AO ALPHARIUS.
Phase 2 – NORTHERN AO ALPHARIUS
Situation - Terrain
Observation – Northern Altis is mountainous and will provide good observations of the surrounding area
Cover – Between the target towns there is not much cover, the hills do have some wooded areas and themselves can be used to conceal infantry movement.
Obstacle – Mountains will be the main terrain points that obstruct movements.
Key Terrain – Open plains, farmland and hills.
Avenue of approach – The roads between towns are heavily defended but offer the most expedited way to destroy the enemy without allowing reinforcements to get past CTRG movement, however the mountains will allow CTRG operatives to move discretely between objectives and lose most forces that may wish to track them.
Situation - Enemy (Takavar)
Size – 1000+.
Activities – The Iranian armed forces have a token presence in every town in North west Altis, major strength in Kavala and will most likely have between a section and a platoon protecting any Artillery or Anti-Air assets in the area..
Locations – Sofia and Salt Flats.
Units – Mostly Iranian Army with a small number of Special forces known to be in the area.
Tactics – Unknown.
Equipment – H&K G3 Variant weaponry, along with a variety of other H&K equipment manufactured both with and without license in Iran. APC’s, IFV’s and Tanks of Soviet make have been seen in the area along with the presents of a variety of Islamic rotary wing aircraft and fixed wing aircraft to dissuade any NATO aircraft in the AO.
Habits – Defending Iranian gains in the area and quelling any rebellion.
Intention – The Jihadists and Takavar wish to expel NATO forces from the Aegean and use it to launch attacks against mainland Europe.
Morale – High.
Situation
The actions of CTRG have allowed NATO forces to capture the salt flats allowing use of heavy air assets, additional to this the efforts of Aviation Callsign Viking has manage to severely damage the Iranian air superiority in the battlespace around AO ALPHARIUS. Intelligence suggests that there will be no fixed wing aircraft capable of striking anywhere in the AO for a number of days, however command has, after several successful strikes, recalled all fixed wing strike craft for repair and maintenance and as such we will not be able to call on their support for the coming mission.
The Takavar forces are of surprising strength and high morale throughout the area they control, able to get a sizable force to any part of altis at a minimum of 15 minutes, with the longest recorded time for reinforcements being 30 minutes. CTRG will need to move quickly upon landing at their DZ to strike at as many targets as can be found before shifting away to another, once all the damage possible has been dealt CTRG Sunray will be able to call upon exfil via rotary wing aircraft. Resupply will be limited to what the C-130 can drop into TAOR NEHALEN/ORIGO.
If the number of CTRG operatives available is deemed enough to take on an additional tasking then a small force will need to strike at TAOR HERZOG where it is estimated that no more than 20 Iranian Special forces are training up to a company of Jihadist and local militia to aid them in the fight NATO forces. A watch tower has been sighted in TAOR HERZOG which can view NATO held territory to the east, if a team can be sent to DESTROY this it will allow NATO plans and movements to go unseen.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to insert into TAOR ORIGO IOT DESTROY any Anti-Air assets they can find throughout the TAOR’s of NEHALEN, RANKO AND DYNAT. Artillery assets are to be DESTROYED as a secondary objective.
Execution
Phase 1 – HALO drop into TAOR ORIGO
Phase 2 – DESTROY Anti Air Assets in TAOR NEHALEN, DYNAT and RANKO.
Phase 3 – NEUTRALISE enemy Infantry and artillery in TAOR NEHALEN, DYNAT and RANKO
Phase 4 – If numbers permit a Small team is to be sent to TAOR HERZOG to DESTROY enemy training camps.
Phase 5 - EXFIL via Transport helicopter.
Phase 3 – TAOR VHEN
Situation - Terrain
Observation – Long open sight lines between towns and hills.
Size – Unknown.
Situation
The actions of CTRG have allowed NATO forces to begin consolidating their ground within AO ALPHARIUS. Intelligence suggests that the Iranian Air assets are still sparse in the area but could arrive at any moment.
CTRG operatives are to move west of the saltflats and remove a Takavar outpost that threatens the security of NATO supply lines, once this is completed they will be the tip of the spear moving into Paros IVO TAOR VHEN. Armored assets will protect the flanks of CTRG 0's movements and two squads of Marine Recon will be moving alongside CTRG to hold strategic positions and provide support. Without the capture of Paros the US and Commonwealth forces stay divided and risk being expelled from Altis. It has been decided by command that no civilian casualties will be acceptable and no civilian infrastructure can be damaged, AT weapons are permitted for use against hard armoured targets but any other destruction inside a civilian town is to be considered unacceptable without express permission of the Director.
To aid in the assault of Paros CTRG can requisition one vehicle from the USMC forces provided that it's weapons do not pose significant threat to civilian infrastructure.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to DESTROY enemy to the West of Almyra IOT secure NATO territory, once achieved CTRG is to seize the town of Paros.
Execution
Phase 1 – Destroy enemies to the west of Almyra
Phase 2 – Move into Paros with USMC support
Phase 3 – Clear Paros and wait for orders
Phase 4 – TAOR VHEN & PECH
Situation - Terrain
Observation – Long open sight lines between towns and hills.
Cover – Between the target towns there is not much cover, the hills do have some wooded areas and themselves can be used to conceal infantry movement.
Obstacle – There are no natural obstacles that obstruct movements.
Key Terrain – Open plains, farmland and hills.
Avenue of approach – Primarily will need to be through broken terrain outside of towns and supply routes.
Situation - Enemy (Jihadist)
Size – Unknown.
Morale – Unknown, likely to have taken a hit after recent defeats.
Situation
Iranian and Rebel forces have been neutralised to the point of being a direct threat to the Almyra, however during the time that CTRG has been consolidating its hold the Jihadist forces have launched a large assault south towards Commonwealth lines.
Meanwhile all available air units have been scrambled to keep the air above AO ALPHARIUS clear of enemy assets. CTRG has been given a list of objectives that are outside of our direct assault specialty, we are to move through TAOR VHEN towards Pyrgos and eliminate known enemy spotters and apprehend local beligerents that are commonly recruited into the Jihadist regime.
Currently the military base East of Pyrgos is housing at least a platoon of Iranian Infantry that are training Jihadists in infantry tactics and weapon usage, among the Iranina forces are their Special Forces unit which are the equal of anything CTRG can field.
A number of officers have been called to Pyrgos to assess the situation we intend to trap them in the city and capture them, they will put up a fight, Tactical grenades and melee takedowns will be crucial to this missions success. If the enemy thinks that the fight is lost they will try to fall back to the harbor where civilian and military boats are currently docked. Neutralise the enemy without overt destruction of property in the likelihood that they attempt to escape by sea.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to DESTROY enemy spotters IVO Pyrgos to secure NATO forces ingress into territory, once achieved CTRG is to rescue civilians during NATO assault.
Execution
Phase 1 – DESTROY enemy spotters
Phase 2 – CAPTURE enemy officers
Phase 3 – Clear Paros and wait for orders
Phase 5 – TAOR SKORR
Situation
It has been decided by the US10th mountain commander that it is time to push through TAOR SKORR to seize the Primary Altis Airfield and the nearby military base. With both the Iranian Airforce mostly occupied and our own partaking in strikes in Europe little to no air cover can be expected. Artillery support will be available at all times. The Iranian Army has set itself up across the small stretch of land to make the most of its position with both static weapons and tanks along with artillery support. 10th Mountain will be pushing across this land and we are expected to support their Abrams with our own. The town to the south east of TAOR SKORR may contain a small contingent of irregular troops that could harass the armoured assault from the rear so care must be taken while advancing. CTRG 0 will be taking the northern flank fo the assault and will need to sweep past the enemy military base, clearing it out with the help of 10th Mountain infantry, once this objective has been achieved the airfield will need to be taken. Where possible prisoners should be taken to gain information on enemy locations throughout AO ALPHARIUS.
Situation - Terrain
Observation – Long open sight lines from hilltops offer a commanding sight of the AO once it is taken.
Cover – There is little to no cover on the assault towards the airfield and the military base.
Obstacle – There are no natural obstacles that obstruct movements.
Key Terrain – Open plains, farmland and hills.
Avenue of approach – The only available avenue of approach is across a thin stretch of land that the enemy hold from heavily defended positions. See attached images for more information.
Situation - Enemy (Takavar)
Size – 1000+.
Activities – The Iranian armed forces are expected to occupy every building and hilltop on approach to the airfield, the enemy has displaced all civilians and moved them to the country side or mountains in fear of reprisals.
Locations – Altis Airfield and Military Base.
Units – A company of Iranian Army infantry and a T72 platoon holding the military base and a large number of Special forces are known to be holding the airfield.
Tactics – Defensive, the Iranian Special forces are known to send small kill teams out to harass NATO units from unexpected angles.
Habits – Intelligence suggests that the enemy will hold their ground and if allowed to escape will likely plague the island for a long time to come.
Intention – The Jihadists and Takavar wish to expel NATO forces from the Aegean and use it to launch attacks against mainland Europe.
Morale – After the recent loss of TAOR's VHEN and PECH the Iranian army is expected to be lower in morale than they have been in recent conflicts. However, with the strength of their special forces who are claiming to have captured or killed a NATO special forces team in Pyrgos the Iranians are unlikely to break.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to ingress TAOR SKORR on the northern flank and DESTROY all enemies IVO the military base, once achieved CTRG is to assault and CAPTURE the Airfield IOT influence further operations in AO ALPHARIUS.
Execution
Phase 1 – Ingress TAOR SKORR, using mechanised and armoured assets sweep the northern flank.
Phase 2 – DESTROY enemy presence IVO military base
Phase 3 – CAPTURE Altis Airfield, take any prisoners possible during the assault.
Phase 6
All information Redacted.
Phase 7 - TAOR NEHALEN
Situation
The commonwealth forces are currently held in high regard by the people of Altis due to the capture of their heritage sight in Kavala however our allies in the US are distrustful of our skills due to the deaths of the USMC prisoners in the custody of CTRG 0. Before CTRG departs for Afghanistan they have been ordered to complete the unfinished objective of eliminating insurgent forces throughout the northern regions of Altis. The resources and morale of the insurgent and Iranian forces are expected to be quite low and as such this is considered a low risk mission. With the destruction of our rotary wing aircraft and artillery our support assets are limited, Russian fixed wing have been seen patrolling in the meditteranean and Iranian aircraft spotted in egypt making the use of our own fixed wing very risky.
Commanders of NATO forces have ordered the taking of prisoners, any combatant that surrenders or is wounded must be brought back to base for interrogation, with any luck we will be able to head into AO LYTHIUM with advanced warning of the enemies plans and disposition.

Intention – To bleed NATO forces across Altis.
Morale – Low, likely to strengthen if left alone.
Situation - Enemy (Takavar)
Size – 100+.
Activities – Sefending small holdouts throughout northern Altis.
Locations – Northern Altis IVO small airfield.
Units – Mostly consisting of special forces.
Tactics – Defensive, the Iranian Special forces are known to send small kill teams out to harass NATO units from unexpected angles.
Equipment – H&K G3 Variant weaponry, along with a variety of other H&K equipment manufactured both with and without license in Iran.
Habits – Intelligence suggests that the enemy will hold their ground and if allowed to escape will likely plague the island for a long time to come.
Intention – The Jihadists and Takavar wish to expel NATO forces from the Aegean and use it to launch attacks against mainland Europe.
Morale – After recent losses morale is expected to be low, this may be the only time we will be able to capture Iranian Special Forces.
Operational Situation
TAOR NEHALEN is a large area that has enemy combatants spread throughout it, a recon team managed to push deep into enemy territory before being engaged in a fire fight and forced to withdraw. The survivors of that reconnaissance team will act as pathfinders, identifying enemy targets and finding the safest route between identified towns.
Mission
CTRG 0 is to ingress TAOR NEHALEN from the south, finding their way towards the airfield in the north and capturing any enemy combatants and equipment they can, any equipment that cannot be captured is to be destroyed..
