Situation
At 03:00 hours, on the 30th of March all activity on the island of ()Taviana ceased. The abnormality of this caught the foundations eye and as such they immediately began monitoring the island, for seven days nothing was observed on the island however on the eighth day a number of KA-60 helicopters were observed landing on the island. An undetermined number of individuals disembarked from the helicopters and seemingly proceeded inland.
What
happend on
the island is unknown, no distress calls were sent out prior to the sudden blackout and no abnormal activity was observed leading upto the blackout. However, Taviana is known to have strong ties with the Russian Federation and the foundation suspects that the island is possibly being used for the storage and testing of SCP-███ and SCP-████ by ███ ████████ █ - this however, is unconfirmed.
Due to the the potential of an anomalous event having taken place and an unknown group of individuals moving into the area, the O4 council has called for MTF Tau-44 to immediately deploy to the region.
Mission
By request of the O4 Council, TAU-44 is to rapidly deploy to the island of Taviana and conduct a full scale investigation of the current situation on the island and determine who is currently present on the island.
The Horizon Islands consists of archipelagos divided up into four main "divisions": the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern regions. The capital city of the nation, La Roche, is located in the country's Central division. All of the landmasses consist largely of dense jungles and lush tropical flora surrounded by steep mountainous cliffs. It is located near the commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand.
The Horizon islands military is the Horizon Islands Defence Forces (HIDF) and the HIDF Gendarmerie who are responsible for the law enforcement and military protection of the Islands.
The Tanoa Province (located in the nation's Northern division) covers a total landmass of 100 square kilometres:
Tanoa is the central island where the Northern division's capital of Georgetown is located. It is the most densely populated out of the five islands, and also serves as the economic hub of the nation.
Besides the capital, other notable locations include the main international airport (Aéroport de Tanoa) in the south, the Blue Pearl industrial shipping port in the north-east, the Red Spring strip mine, as well as the (inactive) volcano located directly in the centre of the island.
A road bridge connects Tanoa to the smaller island of Moddergat to the south-east.
