Situation

At 09:30 hours on the 17th of August, 2021, perimeter security of Site 232 spotted movement to the direct East of the main entrance. The movement was soon revealed to be an envoy for a nearby Knights Templar staging area, setup with the sole intent of raiding Site 232. The envoy had been sent to deliver an ultimatum to the Site, hand over several anomalous items or be attacked. An audio transcript of the ultimatum is available below:

Origin of Transcript: Front Gate, Above Ground Compound, Site 232

Individuals Recorded: Unidentified Templar Envoy, Officer Liam Soule and Senior Officer Patrick Secunda

[BEGIN LOG]

Senior Officer Secunda: Identify yourself immediately or we will open fire!

[Unidentified Envoy]: Do not fire! Things will not go well for either of us if you do. I come bearing a message, if you will listen.

Senior Officer Secunda: I don't know how the fuck or why the fuck you are out here, but sure. What is your message?

[Unidentified Envoy]: I come here as an envoy for the Holy Order of the Knights Templar, Reformed. It has come to our attention that artifacts of great importance are present within this facility, of which we are the rightful guardians of. As such, we have come to this desolate island and established ourselves in preparation to take back these items by force! However, force will only be used if we are forced. Should you agree to the following terms, there will be no bloodshed.

Senior Officer Secunda: What are the terms?

Officer Liam Soule: This fucking guy, what is this? The renaissance?

Senior Officer Secunda: Shut the fuck up Soule!

Senior Officer Secunda: What are the terms?

[Unidentified Envoy]: You have two peaceful options. On me I have a tablet with a list and photographs of each individual item, you can take this list and gather up all of the items and place them safely outside the front gate and allow us to take them or you can open the gate and allow one of our teams to enter the facility and retrieve the items. You have twelve hours to comply.

Senior Officer Secunda: Soule, get the Site director. RIGHT NOW!

Officer Liam Soule: Yes sir!

[END LOG]

The tablet provided had a list provided on the notes section of the device, notibly the device was infact a Samsung phone and not a tablet. Thorough scans through the device reveal nothing of note beyond the factory default applications. A screenshot of the note is provided below:

Within 20 minutes of receiving the ultimatum, Site Director Hamilton contacted nearby Site 231 for assistance. However, all combat units of our Task Force were either occupied elsewhere or as you are well aware, currently undergoing post-engram recovery and familiarisation. As such Site 232 put out an emergency call for any and all assistance, obviously not being willing to negotiate or give in to the Templar forces. Armed Rapid Response Task Force Xi-13 responded to the call and deployed to Zone 51 and immediately setup a defensive line between Site 232 and the Templar staging area. At 22:07, Xi-13 took contact from approximately 80 men from the Caliburn Security Services Company, led by a group of 4 'Knights' clad in powered combat armor.

Fighting between Xi-13 and the Templar assault group lasted until 03:20 the next day. With Xi-13 sustaining 60% casualties but inflicting nearly 100% casualities on the assault party, leaving only a single knight to flee. However, intelligence actively being gathered by surveilance teams monitoring Templar activity elsewhere notify Xi-13 that approximately a battalions worth of Templars and Caliburn Mercenaries are on their way to Zone 51, with some having already arrived recently - likely due to the Templars suspecting Site 232 not to comply. As a result Xi-13 has declared an elevated state of emergency and has requested reinforcement, Xi-13 is originally only a Task Force of roughly 40 men and having suffered 60% casualties they are only left with 16 men, albeit exo-suit equipped but still only 16, as such the likelyhood of Xi-13 being overrun is high. 2nd and 3rd Company, 1st Battalion of Nu-7 'Hammer Down' are prepping for immediate deployment to assist. Nu-7 is however expected to take 72 hours, at least, to be ready for mass deployment of two combat ready companies, mainly due to being spread relatively thin dealing with numerous other situation at this time.
To alleviate the possibility of Xi-13 being overrun in the meantime, Detachment One of TAU-44 has been ordered to speed up Post-Engram rehab and deploy to immediately reinforce Xi-13 and prevent Site 232 from being overrun before the arrival of Nu-7.

Mission & Execution

Workup - 21/08/21

Detachment One, Tau-44 are to gear up and prepare for deployment. This work up is time for everyone to make kits, test them and work with their team on any aspects of teamwork that may need improving. Additionally this is time to ask any operational questions and determine the minute details of the operations execution.

Phase 1 Overview

Detachment One are to rapidly deploy and assist Rapid Response Task Force Xi-13 in securing Site 232 until 2nd and 3rd Company, 1st Battalion of Nu-7 'Hammer Down' arrive en masse to take over the defence efforts.

Phase 1-A - 29/08/21

Xi-13 has taken the opportunity to push their defence further from Site 232 following the initial assault and are now situated to the South-East of Site 232. While the Templars have move and secured an abandoned Foundation Airfield further to the SE. Detachment One will transport themselves and several vehicles of choice to the Xi-13 defensive line utilising the transportation beam to speed up the process. Once there, Tau-44 are to push forward and conduct reconaisance ahead of the line to check for any advancing Templar forces.

Should advancing forces be identified, Tau-44 are to deploy defensive boobytraps and mines before then retreating to the defensive line and bracing for contact.

Should no advancing forces be identified, Tau-44 should lay mines and boobytraps then advance further forward and attempt to reconnoiter the Templar staging area.

Phase 2 Overview

Detachment One are to work alongside Nu-7 to repell the Templar forces and push them from the island. Tau-44 will act as a reconnaisance and quick strike force for Nu-7, hitting targets of importance and conducting behind enemy lines strikes.

Administration/Logistics

Logistics

  • Resupply: D

  • Fire Support: A

  • Reinsertion: B

  • Loadout Considerations:

Hostiles are universally equipped with ceramic small arms protection inserts, with select hostiles utilising powered armor suits. Additionally, Zone 51 is are sparsely vegetated wide open terrain with a number of open fields surrounded by plateau's of various heights. It is suggested that weapons with high armor penetration capabilities, paired with good long range ballistics are taken.

Additionally, two Laku LRAMW (Light Recoil Anti Materiel Weapon) 25mm's have been made available for usage should they be needed to combat powered armor suits.

Four Exo-skeletons are also available, recovered from deceased Xi-13 operatives, they can be used to enhance important roles such as machinegunners or medics - reducing fatigue.
